TinkaPosition – Team Dog

Breed: Alaskan Malamute
Born:  20 September 2000 – Palmerston North, New Zealand

We took care of Tinka for friends when she was only 6 months old, we feel in love with her and we ended up managing to keep her.  She was a fun girl, a little crazy but always happy with lots of energy.  She loved to run in harness and was a great little sled dog.

Race History:  Recreational races in New Zealand

Passed 5th March 2013:  Really miss this crazy little girl.

SpritePosition – Leader

Breed: Alaskan Husky
Born:  2001 – Togo, Minnesota

Sprite was given to us at 8 years old along with her brother Scotch.  She had completed 5 Iditarod’s as part of John Bakers team.  She came back to Minnesota and became a key part of the yearling team we where training at the time.  Her and her brother provided some stability to our team and Sprite was a solid girl in lead.  She was a lovely affectionate girl, she had a serious woolly coat on her and she would zip around her circle playing with you and eventually settle for sitting on your feet for cuddles.

Race History:  5 x Iditarods, Beargrease Mid distance 2009, Wolf track Classic 2009, White Oak 2009.

Passed 15th December 2012:  One of the foundation dogs of the team we have today.  A great little girl that could never be replaced.

VoodooPosition – The House

Breed: Alaskan Malamute
Born:  February 1999 – Christchurch, New Zealand

Mother to Rogue and Maximus.  Our third Malamute, Voodoo was brought into our lives when we suddenly lost our first girl Mishka..  She was one stubborn little girl.  But she quickly won us over and became a huge part of our lives.  She spent most her time with her best friend Kaos.  Voodoo was a big girl, a little lazy when it came to being in harness but she made up for that in so many other ways.  A very laid back Malamute that just sat back and took the world in, she loved people but was also very independent.  She was one of those dogs that knew exactly where she was in life, what she wanted and how it would be done, but all in a very subtle way.  Her daughter Rogue adored her.

Race History:  Recreational races in New Zealand

Passed 6th December 2014:  A very special girl that was part of our foundation.  If only they could all live long lives like she did. Two months short of 16.

KaosPosition – Team Dog

Breed: Alaskan Malamute
Born:  17th August 1998 – Auckland, New Zealand

This is the dog that it all started with.  He wasn’t our first but he was the first we started in the sport with.  Kaos was a one of a kind.  A small compact Malamute that was all heart.  He loved to run and had hard working ethics.  He was all Malamute, stacks of attitude and the dog we made all the mistakes with.  This dog taught us more then the other 50 put together that we have had since.  A very loyal friend that got us to where we are now.  This dog traveled the world with us, born on NZ he lived in 3 US states, The Yukon territories, Canada and was laid to rest in Alaska.

Race History:  Recreational races in New Zealand

Passed 31st August 2012:  That once in a life time dog that left a huge whole.  Still remember you like it was yesterday.

TacklePosition – Team Dog

Breed: Alaskan Husky
Born:  2007 – Togo, Minnesota

Brother to Block and Hook.  Tackle started as a shy dog who quickly turned into one of our first pick team members .  There was no shortage of attitude in this dog.  Tackle shined in the 2013 Iditarod, he was phenomenal, relentless work ethics and had a happy positive attitude throughout.  In Swing he would drag the team around before the leaders would have the chance to respond.  He joined the ranks of our best dogs.  Out of harness he was a cheeky fun dog once he got to know you.  Loved nothing more then having some rough playtime but then would jump in your arms for affection.

Race History:  White Oak Classic 2011, Beargrease Marathon 2011, Red River 2010, Race to the Sky 2011, Tustumena 200, Copper Basin 2012/2013, Iditarod 2012/2013

Passed 30th Dec 2013:  A sudden and unexpected loss of one of our best.  Also one of those dogs that had a very special place in our hearts.

RebelPosition – Team Dog

Breed: Alaskan Husky

Born:  2012 – Willow, Alaska

Rebel takes after her mother Hook.  She looks very similar and is shy much like Hook used to be.  Behind the shyness is a sweet fun girl and with time she will turn into a confident dog.  Rebel has fit into the team well and is showing a lot of potential.

Passed 12th November 2015 – A very sweet little girl that we lost way to young.

MayhemPosition – Team Dog

Breed: Alaskan Husky
Born:  2012 – Willow, Alaska

Mayhem is a big floppy eared boy that takes after his uncle Block, one of our main leaders.  Mayhem is son to Hook and Tackle who we unexpectedly lost in 2013.  He is a happy fun dog that is settling nicely into training.

Passed 22nd January 2017 – A big cuddly guy that was lost well before his time. Will miss you dearly.

GatorPosition – Leader / Team Dog

Breed: Alaskan Husky
Born:  2010 – Togo, Minnesota

Gator is brother to Kroc and one of our own breedings between a Martin Buser girl (Pandora) that we own and a friends Jeff King dog.  Gator is the brains in the family, a smart dog that can be very serious about life.  But Gator still has a very affectionate side to him and his favorite game is to play soccer with his food bowl.  Gator is an upcoming star, he has finished every race he has ever run and is showing huge potential in lead.  When in harness he is all business and a huge asset to the team.

Race History:   Tustemina 200 2013, Iditarod 2013/2014, Yukon Quest 2014

Passed 3rd Nov 2014 – A dearly loved friend that was lost in his prime, a superstar in the making.

Position: Team Dog

Breed: Alaskan Malamute
Born: 2004 – Christchurch, New Zealand

Rogue was the first Malamute that we bred from our first girl “Voodoo”.  Rogue is a well structured working dog.  She has trained extensively with our main race team and earned her American Sled Dog Excellence title as a result.  This girl is super affectionate…to the point of being a stalker.  Pat her once and you will be best friends for life.

Passed 1st August 2016 – Our beuatful loving girl, time went way to quick. The house feels so empty.

Position: Semi-Retired

Breed: Alaskan Husky
Born: 2001 – Togo, Minnesota

This boy is the real deal.  The granddad of the team, Scotch, even at 12, is still a very strong sled dog.  This guy has an impressive resume.  He has 5 Iditarod finishes all of which where with 2011 Iditarod Champion John Baker, who holds the most top 10 finishes.  A very noble, well mannered dog who can’t help but impress.  A large dog with a very heavy black coat, he has been nicknamed “The Timber Wolf” as he could be mistaken for one.  It’s not often you get the privilege to be in the presence of an animal like this.  He is a very special dog to us.

Race History:  Numerous races across the lower 48 and Alaska including 5 Iditarods

Passed 18th August 2016 – You lived a fuller life then most other dogs and left behind a legacy. We still see you as the foundation of our team.

gumboBreed: Alaska Husky
Born: 2008 – Togo, Minnesota

Gumbo is another one of our larger boys. This guy can be a little shy at first, but that is all forgotten when he is put in harness and becomes a beast.  You will know when Gumbo is in your team as he will lunge into his harness and scream…. so best you hold on.  Take the time to get to know this guy and he will like nothing more then standing up at eye level and giving you gentle kisses on the chin.  A lovely big boy.  Gumbo has participated in Iditarod.

Passed 8th Nov 2013 – Our big gentle giant.  A powerhouse of a dog and a loving friend.
